We change the rights of the dongle module to the rights under which our telephony team operates:
chown -R asterisk:asterisk /usr/lib/asterisk/modules/chan_dongle.so
The configuration file is not affected if we are only updating the chan_dongle module. If we make a new installation of the Dongle module, then you need to copy the configuration file of the chan_dongle module with the command:
cp etc/dongle.conf /etc/asterisk/
