In this manual, we continue the series of articles on installing and configuring the hosting panel ISPConfig 3, today we will install additional PHP programming languages for the control panel ISPConfig 3 installed in Debian Wheezy. Since PHP 5.4 is installed by default from the Debian Wheezy repository, we need to install the missing versions of PHP 5.2, 5.3, 5.5, 5.6.
!!! Due to the fact that time passes and all new versions of PHP are released, I periodically change links to current versions and working links in the text, but do not change screenshots, so do not pay attention if there is an older version of the distribution on the screenshot.
We are starting to prepare and install.
Install the necessary software to build versions PHP 5.2, PHP 5.3, PHP 5.5 and PHP 5.6 And then I did the command.

Copy the required php libraries by following the instructions:

Install PHP version 5.2.17
We create folders where we will collect and install, download, unblock and go to the unarchived folder with the PHP 5.2.17 distribution, for this we execute commands:

Download and overlay security patches to php 5.2.17 source code by executing the following commands:

For Debian 8 Jessie (While it doesn’t work make), we will additionally install several packages and create a folder and simlink to the library for a successful build. PHP 5.2 on Debian Jessie And then I did the command.

After that, run the command to configure PHP 5.2 in Debian 8 Jessie with i386 architecture:

Check the version of the installed PHP Interpreter by executing the command:

Installing PHP version 5.3
We create folders where we will collect and install, download, unblock and go to the unarchived folder with the PHP 5.3.28 distribution, for this we execute commands:

Check the version of the installed PHP Interpreter by executing the command:

Installing PHP version 5.5

Add the established languages PHP 5.2, PHP 5.3, PHP 5.5 and PHP 5.6 to ISPConfig 3
To add additional versions of php to the ISPConfig 3 hosting control panel, open the tab in the Web interface browser and go to the folder: System system - Addition PHP Versions - Add new PHP versionIn the screenshot below, you can see the window you need to open:
Add the PHP 5.2 language to the panel ISPConfig 3 at Debian Wheezy
In the field. Client We do not select anything, then all customers will be able to use the selected languages when installing the site.
Add in. PHP 5.2.17To do this, fill in the fields for example below:
- Server: webserver.server.loc

Add the PHP 5.3 language to the panel ISPConfig 3 at Debian Wheezy
We add PHP 5.3.29 and fill in the fields below:

After filling the fields, press the button. Save.
Add PHP 5.5 to the ISPConfig 3 panel in Debian Wheezy
We add PHP 5.5.38 and fill in the fields below:

After filling the fields, press the button. Save.
Add PHP 5.6 to the ISPConfig 3 panel in Debian
We add PHP 5.6.30 and fill in the fields below:
- Server: webserver.server.loc
- Client:

After filling the fields, press the button. Save.
After adding installable versions of PHP, we have in the window System system - Addition PHP Versions 3 versions of PHP will be added: PHP 5.2.17, PHP 5.3.29, PHP 5.5.38 and PHP 5.6.30 in the screenshot below:
Now we need to open and edit paths to executable files and to the configuration file for each added version of PHP. php.ini
Open PHP 5.2.17 and in the tab FastCGI Settings We fill in the fields as follows:
- Path to the PHP FastCGI binary: /opt/php-5.2.17/bin/php-cgi
- Path to the php.ini directory: /opt/php-5.2.17/lib
After filling in these fields, press the button to save the changes. Save.:
Open PHP 5.3.29 and fill the fields in the FastCGI Settings tab as follows:
- Path to the PHP FastCGI binary: /opt/php-5.3.29/bin/php-cgi
- Path to the php.ini directory: /opt/php-5.3.29/lib
After filling in these fields, press the button to save the changes. Save.:
Open PHP 5.5.38 and fill in the fields in the FastCGI Settings tab.
- Path to the PHP FastCGI binary: /opt/php-5.5.38/bin/php-cgi
- Path to the php.ini directory: /opt/php-5.5.38/lib
After filling in these fields, press the button to save the changes. Save.:
Open PHP 5.6.30 and fill in the fields in the FastCGI Settings tab.

Check the operability of the installed PHP version of the language
To check the installed PHP versions of the language, we need to create an i.php file on an existing site, and since we configured in the previous article the Roundcube email web client for hosting the ISPConfig 3 panel, this site mail.server.loc and will use.
Create a file. i.php website mail.server.loc And then I did two commands:
echo '<?php phpinfo(); ?>' > /var/www/mail.server.loc/web/i.php chmod 755 /var/www/mail.server.loc/web/i.php
Now it is enough to open the created file on the site at:
http://mail.server.loc/i.php
To enable the necessary version of the installed PHP language, you need to open a website for editing. mail.server.loc field PHP Version In the drop-down list, you can select the desired version of the language from those installed earlier.
By default, Debian Wheezy installs the php 5.4 version of the interpreter and in the ISPConfig panel it is marked as Default In the drop-down list of PHP language selections.
If you choose on the list DefaultSave the settings and wait a few minutes to apply the changes when you open the previously created file. i.php We will see the information on PHP version, and all settings:

In this manual, we installed additional languages PHP 5.2.17, PHP 5.3.29 and PHP 5.5.38 on the Debian Wheezy server, and added them to the ISPConfig 3 hosting control panel. In the ISPConfig 3 panel, these PHP languages are configured to work as CGI.
