Today, we will sew on WIFI router D-Link DIR300NRUB7 which constantly hangs and glitches the OpenWRT firmware of the latest version 15 at the moment.
So we're going to download the firmware for that. OpenWRT website by reference :
Save the downloadable firmware on the computer:
We connect the router to the computer, preliminarily for the network card we specify the IP 192.168.0.2, and then use the instructions from the official OpenWRT website on router firmware through the Emergency room mode Web interface. This mode has different names, but the essence is the same: through this mode you can always restore your router after experiments, install openwrt, dd-wrt and restore standard firmware.
-
Download the image for b1, b2, b3 or b5, b6, b7
-
Turn off the router, remove all other cables, connect the computer to the router (for b1 it is recommended to use a blue cable from the kit).
-
Install IP on the computer manually 192.168.0.2, subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.0.1. (If it did not work then 192.168.1.2, subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.1)
-
Press the Reset button.
-
Turn on the router and wait 10-20 seconds.
-
Release Reset, wait a minute and connect via the browser to 192.168.0.1. (192.168.1.1)
ping 192.168.0.1
- If you have trouble loading an image, experiment with different browsers and their older versions. (firefox 13, ie8)
- If you have trouble loading your image to b5,b6,b7 and you have one of the latest d-link firmwares, then you’ll probably have to downgrade the u-boot version.
After installing the firmware, go to the web interface OpenWRT 15 specifying the login root without a password, and in the screenshot below we see that the web interface reminds that the root user password is absent and it is necessary to set a complex password, as well as configure the security of WIFI network with a complex password:
